Hertel & Schwab 165

In 1911 several of the German doll makers began their line of googly-eyed dolls and they have become probably the most popular doll type by collectors. Hertel, Schwab & Co. has a long line of googlies and they were on either toddler or baby bodies. The mold #165 is one of the favorites among collectors, open/closed mouth. She has the pale blue glass sleep eyes that everyone seems to favor with a wide circle of painted lashes and thin, arched brows high above her eyes. Her Original brown mohair wig is sale .she has a nice toddler body. She is wearing an old dress with a hat and also a winter outfit coat with bonnet. Marks: Incised "165-9" on the back of her neck. 19 inches or 48 cm Condition: No hairlines, chips, breaks or repairs to the bisque head. .
